Route One, Iceland
The magical country of Iceland is becoming more and more popular for holidaymakers from all over the globe. Rich in picturesque landscapes and endless open roads, Route One is a road trip to consider. Starting in the capital of Reykjavik, the route spans for 500 miles and passes some of the countries natural beauties. Lava fields, waterfalls, volcanoes and sea views are just some of the sights you can expect to see. Iceland can be a fairly expensive European destination, so it’s a trip you’ll need to save for. However much the trip may be, the rewards and memories you’re going to make are endless.
The Military Road, Isle of Wight
If you’re looking for a shorter break which is closer to home, then The Military Road on the Isle of Wight is a route to consider. The route isn’t long at all and will only take around an hour’s drive, lasting for a short 12 miles. The route takes you from the east coast of the island to the west and although there isn’t a great amount to do; the views certainly make up for it. The open stretches of road offer endless views of the sea below, as well as the chance to leave the car and explore places like Freshwater Bay and St Catherine’s Oratory. The Military Road is an easy option for a road trip, yet offers fantastic views.
